ELIZABETH EVANS, PHD, MA
Community engaged public health research
I research how health care systems and public policies can better promote health and wellness among vulnerable and underserved populations, particularly for individuals at risk for substance use disorders, mental illness, and infectious diseases. I joined UMass Amherst in 2017 and since then I am focused on addressing the opioid epidemic particularly among criminally involved populations. When not on campus I visit the local swimming holes, hike along sections of the Appalachian Trail, and indulge at creameries and food trucks. Any winter survival skill tips would be greatly appreciated. To learn more about my research please see my Faculty Page.
